TENOWO products are distinguished by practice-based development, quality-conscious production and an across-the-board, certified quality-assurance system pursuant to DIN ISO 9001. As a sustainably operating company, TENOWO GmbH takes ecological and safety aspects into account in product development.

DIN EN ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and Öko-Tex 100 are a matter of course. At this point in time, we have the following certificates; we are also facing up to the requirements of the market as we strive to receive additional certificates.

What does certification mean?

Definition and significance

A certification ensures that a product or process meets a certain requirement for quality. It serves as a trust-building measure that is checked and confirmed by an impartial third party (for Germany, for instance, this is DAkkS, Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH). Even the term “certification” itself is defined, pursuant to a conformity assessment under DIN EN ISO / IEC 17000:2004, as follows:

“Measure by an impartial third party, demonstrating that there is reasonable confidence that a properly identified product, process, or service is in accordance with a particular standard or with some other normative document.”

What are the areas of application for a certification?

Product certification
(e.g. OEKO-TEX ® Standard 100, GRS – Global Recycle Standard)

System certification
(e.g. quality management system, environmental management system, energy management system, occupational health and safety management system, etc.)

Our Certifications

Our German sites are certified according to the GRS (Global Recycled Standard)

Products certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) contain recycled material that has been verified at each stage of the supply chain, from the source to the final product.

In addition, certified organizations have met social, environmental, and chemical requirements at each stage of the supply chain.

The purchase of Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified products demonstrates demand for recycled content and best processing practices in the supply chain.

We are certified according to ÖKO TEX Standard 100

What does “Oeko-Tex certified” actually mean?

Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 entails a uniform system for testing and certification that was established by the “International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology;” it covers all stages of processing for textile raw, intermediate and end products.

If something has been checked according to Öko-Tex Standard 100 (also known as “Oeko-Tex Standard 100”), this means that the product has been tested for an array of a total of 100 contaminants, optical brighteners and similar substances.

Why product certifications are important

What are the benefits of product certifications?

They lead to transparency with regard to product properties ✓

They take sustainability into account (e.g. use of recycled materials) ✓

They mean added value for customers, who can rest assured that we do not use any of the substances on the “red list” ✓

They promote customer confidence

They attest that a product has been manufactured pursuant to internationally recognized minimum standards, and the entire supply chain can be mapped

Why system certifications are important

What is system certification?

Certifications in the management system mean that a company’s organization and processes meet certain specified, standard-based requirements. These standard requirements may apply to quality management, environmental management, energy management, IT security, occupational safety, etc.

Once the validity period expires (typically after 1-3 years), a re-certification is required to confirm compliance with a standard.

Our management system is also subject to constant review through our internal audits, but also through external audits (by accredited 3rd-party bodies or by 2nd-party customer audits), with any potential for improvement revealed.

Why do we have an integrated management system in place?

Here at TENOWO, we are aware of the constant evolution in our customers’ quality and environmental requirements. Confronted with increasing competition, we also dedicate ourselves to complying with the requirements of standards governing sustainable products and the monitoring of supply chains.

Continuous investments in the further development of the product range, with optimization of the environmental and energy aspects of production, strengthen our position as an innovative, internationally oriented partner to leading industries.

What are the benefits of system certifications?

They promote ongoing optimization of our processes

They make our work processes transparent

They reduce internal errors, hence also lowering the costs for complaints ✓

They leverage our employees’ expertise

They provide proof of conformity to customers and monitoring of provisions of statute

They promote an evolving approach to quality assurance
